Friday posting!

Wow this week has just flown by. Off tonight to Houston - going to go to the Monsters of Hip Hop convention and watch Brandy show her stuff! She wasn't going to have me come but then had second thoughts about having to get up at someone's house and getting to the hotel in time to get out there and decided that maybe it would be easier to have Mom come foot the hotel bill. Oh well can't wait to see her dance again!.
Today I finished painting my bathroom after striping the wall paper and texturing it with spackling - really like how it turned out but not sure I love the color - a very light turquoise is what I was going for but this looks a little more green to me. BUT it's done - just need to redo the trim and I'm finished in there - on to the next project - either more painting or more wall paper stripping -going to have to work myself into that one!
Here's a couple of cards I finally got picture of - first one is for Taylored Expressions. I used a new Inakinkado stamp and some My Mind's Eye papers.

Here's my card for the Sketch Saturday this week - used more of the My Mind's Eye papers but another one of the adorable inkadinkado stamps I just got.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you enjoyed this weeks Core'dinations and Spellbinder's Blog Hop - it was so much fun!

Wednesday cards

Well didn't get these posted on Monday with the Core'dinations and Spellbinder's Blog hop going on so will post today. BUT be sure to check back tomorrow as I have another card to show you using Spellbinders and Core'dinations. Charlie and I took a road trip starting yesterday - just overnight. Drove up and around several lakes near Comanche, and a little west of there - found nothing we liked. Either the lakes were manned by Core of Engineers or there just wasn't anything interesting there we pretty much ruled that area out. Next is up again heading up the 281 highway towards Arlington and Eastland. We may have to settle for property not on the water - my priority is trees and as pretty as the place I have right now which is going to be darn hard to beat. We built our dream home here 12 years ago and still love it just as much as when we built it.
Here's my card for the sketch from The Sweet Stop this week. Got some new stamps that I could hardly wait to use from Sylvia Ze5t for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I used some Bo Bunny papers for this one.

Then for the sketch over at Sweet Sunday. For this I used another one of their stamps together with My Mind's Eye papers.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow for the Core'dination's Blog Hop.

For this card I used one of the Spellbinders Impressibilities plates. I have a Cuttlebug so for me I put a few sheets of cardstock down first - then the white plate, then plate A, the Spellbinders plate with the sharp side up, my cardstock with the right side up, the rubber sheet, then the B plate. I run it through my machine a couple of times and then take it out and embossed the cardstock. Then I also used one of the Nestibilities die cuts and put it over the lace doily to put my sentiment on.

Then here's a page I did using the diamond shaped die cuts - I used both core cardstock and some of the new Tim Holtz kraft core for the shapes.

Saturday and Unscripted sketches

Well I have to tell you this vacation at home is just about the most wonderful thing I've ever done! Makes me dream of retirement! In 6 days I have finished painting and packing up all but the minimum in my dining room - then stripped the wallpaper in my hall bath. Plus had lunch with my hubby one day, lunch with a friend today and even a little shopping in one day. AND I'm scrapping. Tomorrow I'm going to Austin to go to lunch with my mother and my sister and stop by Archievers and another little scrap shop I found up there. Will have more to share tomorrow and please check it out next week at Core'dnations where the Design Team has totally ROCKED Spellbinders. Some fabulous projects and pages and cards to show you.

In the mean time here's my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. Used My Mind's Eye papers and this adorable stamp from Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Tuesday

Day two of my three weeks off - hope the rest will be this productive. Finished painting my dining room - everything has been cleaned out of there but the bare minimum. I am SORE!! I've been working out or walking every day for a week and then going up and down both the 6 foot ladder and the 9 foot or 12 foot (?) one and I know I'm going to be a friend with Motrin in the morning! Trying to pack up this house and get ready to try to put it on the market. Time to downsize! It's tough! Especially since we have been here for 12-13 years now and seem to have accumulated a ton while the kids were growing up. Tomorrow off on a drive to Fredericksburg for the day.
Have a couple of cards I did that I forgot to post with the Blog Hop going to D2D. But here they are.

Ok first of the sketch from CPS. Needed a card for my grandson. Ok missed the ribbon on the sketch but liked how it came out. Core'dinations cardstock and some new stamps from Stampendous.
Next is the card I did for Card Patterns this week. Pulled out the Christmas paper from My Mind's Eye and a stamp from Paper Works for this one.
Next is the card I did for the sketch over at The Sweet Stop this week. This is some Echo Park here together with a stamp I've had for a long time from American Art - love the sentiment.
Then I did this page for the color challenge at Color Combo Galore - not really happy with it but used some Core'dinations together with a sheet of My Mind's Eye. The little cutie is my great-nephew, Cason.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to play some more this week but I'm focusing on getting some work done around here too. If I come in here I could literally spend every single day all day for the entire three week. Course I would have to put out a stand by the street and sell cards because there wouldn't be any room for them here!

Please join us today over at Designed 2 Delight for a blog hop to show off Faith's new stamps from Whipper Snapper Images as well as some new digi papers. Please be sure an comment on everyone's blog because there will be give-aways along the way and for one lucky final winner.

Happy Saturday

Ok well today was my last day as a Case Manager for Trauma - shiff shiff. I hate to leave there - really hate leaving a few of the people I've worked with through out the years but it had just gotten to the point that I didn't enjoy it because of a few. SO I'm off to another adventure and moving back where I came from in the ICU. I'm taking three glorious weeks off and then starting on a reduced schedule in the ICU. I've always loved trauma and feel like it's up to make to make a difference no matter where I'm at. I'm just going to take that attitude and hide the tears and move on!
TODAY I have a couple of cards to show you. First off is my card for Unscripted Sketches this week. Once I pulled out this Core Couture I couldn't stop - LOVE the look of it embossed! Go check out all the other great card the rest of the Design Team has prepared for you and play along with us this week!

Next I have my card for For Your Inspiration this time. Love this fabulous photo and since I was already tuned into the Core Couture I went with more of it together with the sponsors image from Sweet & Sassy that was just gorgeous

Next I have a couple of card I have done for Designed 2 Delight recently with Faith's fabulous digitals. Aren't these awesome for Fall? Thanks for stopping by - working on some layouts but have a class all day tomorrow - ugh!

Sunday Posting

Wow the weekend went way too fast! But got alot done. We had some boys (family) down here from Arlington wanting to "float" the river. LOL we tried to tell them there wasn't much water at all in the river but they were determined! Boys! Got here about midnight Friday night and didn't want to wake us (although we were waiting for them!) and so slept in their car until Charlie went out to get the paper - then climbed into bed and slept until about 1:30 when we woke them up to lead them over to Gruene (since there's still SOME water there). Brandy, Charlie and I ate lunch and then found that the boys had decided it was too expensive over there and had come back here to try by the house. So they got "wet" - no float really to it but they had fun. Came home about 7-8 went to sleep yet AGAIN and got up this morning around 9 and headed home - had a ball! Let's see out of about 36 hours here they slept about 24.
Headed into my last week as a Trauma Case Manager - will then have three glorious weeks off and then start back in STICU.
Here's my scrap work for the weekend although I did get several more cards done for the D2D blog - trying to get ahead which seems impossibly lately. First off is the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week - inspired me to use this D2D image and pulled out an old Noel Mignon kit to try to use up all the papers which I seem to only make a small dent in.

Next is my card for Card Patterns this week - I'm not impressed at how it turned out. The Cardstock is Core'dinations - tag from a Noel Mignon kit and stamps from Smooches.

The next sketch is the one over at CPS this week. I used some My Mind's Eye papers for this one together with this cute litte snowman from Unity Stamps. The sentiment is a Smooches stamp.

Next up is the sketch from Taylored Expressions this week. Used a Unity Stamp on this Echo Park papers for this one.

Last I have a page I made for the color challenge over at Color Combo Galore this week. Here I went almost all the way with the Core'dinations Cardstock - My Mind's Eye collection plus a little My Mind's Eye papers. The cuties are my little great-nieces, Katy and Hailey.
Thanks for stopping by! Your sweet words make my day!

Saturday and Unscripted sketches

One more week at my current job - then three glorious weeks off then I start back to the STICU. Although I realized I have a re-certification class the very next day (Sat) and then a doctor's appt on Monday. Oh well still can't wait for the time off. Off for a morning walk in this nice cool air!
Here's my card for the Unscripted Sketch and challenge this week. The challenge portion of this was to put numbers on your card - we all seems to lean towards the Birthday Cards with this. Please stop by Unscripted Sketches to see all the other great inspiration the Design Team has for you and play along with us this week.
My paper are some from Bo Bunny.

Monday posting

Took today off and enjoyed it! I painted the ceiling in my dining room - probably my least favorite part of painting. I don't know who got more paint splatters me or the floor. Doesn't matter how hard you try to cover everything up when you paint the ceiling there's paint everywhere. BUT it's done! Then my hubby went to Arlington, kids went with friends and I treated myself to lunch alone and a lot of scrappy time.!
First I have a card for the sketch at The Sweet Stop. Used everything but the stamp from a Noel kit (probably two years old now) and then a Smooches stamp.

The next card is for the sketch over at CPS. Echo part papers and Smooches stamps.

Then for the sketch over at Card Patterns I started off following the sketch and realize now I never added the little bling in the top right hand corner. Oh well. Papers from My Mind's Eye and stamp is a digital from Designed 2 Delight.

The last card is for the sketch over at Random Acts of Creativity by Chupa. Love this sketch. Pulled out some old Crate Paper for this one.

Thanks for stopping by - back to work tomorrow.
